Sieben Jahre hat es gedauert, bis die Stele Ost in Wolgograd (Partnerstadt von Köln) aufgestellt wurde. Unter Mithilfe der Stadt Köln und einiger Kölner Bürger konnte diese Skulptur realisiert werden. Zum 60. Jahrestag des Kriegsendes, am 8. Mai 2005, wurde dieses Mahnmal in dem Freilichtmuseum "Straja Sarepta" eingeweiht.
It took seven years for the stele East to be erected in Volgograde (one of Cologne’s twin towns). With the assistance of the City of Cologne and Cologne citizens this sculpture could be installed. This memorial was presented in the “Straja Sarepta”- open-air-museum on May 8, 2005, in commemoration of the end of World War II 6o years ago.
Pasaron siete años para colocar la estela „Este“ en Volgogrado. Gracias a la ciudad de Colonia y algunos de sus habitantes se podía realizar este proyecto. La estela se encuentra en el museo al aire libre „Straja Sarepta“. La inauguración fue el 8 de mayo de 2005, el sexagésimo aniversario del fin de la segunda guerra mundial.
